Position: Doctor

Joining Date: Immediate

Contract: 3 months

Monthly wage: EUR 3.000

We are looking for a qualified Doctor to join the ship around the beginning of October for a period of +/- 3 months. The ship will be laid up, no passenger, only crew. The candidate must be willing and available to stay on board until at least January, over Christmas and New Year’s. 

Visitors on board as per current status will not be possible. Shore Leave is possible at present (with certain limitations and regulations). However, we cannot guarantee the ship will stay in the same port throughout the whole next 3 month. A transfer to another city, country, or even anchorage is also possible. Free accommodation and F&B on board. In case the layup continues after January and travel circumstances allow, a 3-4 week vacation could be arranged and rejoining for another contract if wanted.

The following are the minimum requirements:

• Approbation as a Medical Doctor
• Certificates and proof of a minimum of 5 years active working periods in the field of General Practitioner and/or Internist
• Proof of knowledge and practice in Sonography
• Must have actively worked in the field of Emergency Medicine
• Must have knowledge in the use of X-Ray apparatus and MUST have a certificate in X-Ray protection
• Previous experience as a Ship Doctor would be an advantage
• Must be in command of the English language fluently in speaking, writing, and oral. Onboard language, Safety language is English
• Additional knowledge of the German language would be an advantage
• Must be certified according to STCW Code (Basic Safety Training, Crowd Management Training, Ship Security Training, Medical Fitness for Seafarer)
• Wages EUR 3000.- per month
